Letter to the Editor

Crossing light needed

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

Dear Editor,

The reason for my letter, I work the night shift at the Nevada Habilitation Center. Over the last 24 years I have seen an increase in the number of children of various ages walking to school. The intersection of Ash and Hickory needs a pedesterian light similiar to the one at the Hab Center. On my way from home Wedsnesday morning two boys approximately 10 - 12 years old walked out across the intersection, if I hadn't seen the flashing light on the school mini-bus I would not have seen the boys step out in front of the bus and another car. Even at night there have been numerous times bicyclist and individuals walk or ride across the intersection. I just don't want anyone hurt. Thank you for your time.
