Report reveals new information on Tuesday traffic accident

Friday, November 14, 2008

A police report provided by one of the parties to a crash originally reported in the Nov. 11 and 12 edition of the Nevada Daily Mail reveals that some information gathered at the scene was incorrect, and tells the full story, which was unavailable at the time.

A witness contacted at the scene and scanner traffic indicated that it was a one-vehicle accident, but the report states that two vehicles actually were involved and gives a different account of the details surrounding the crash.

According to the report, the accident occurred at about 1:45 p.m., Nov. 11, at the intersection of Osage and Hickory. The report states that Neal Leffler, Nevada, who was driving a 1996 GMC pickup, did not stop at a stop sign and pulled out, striking a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Casey Landreth, Nevada. The Blazer rolled over and came to rest facing north. Landreth, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was listed on the report as having suffered "evident -- not disabling" injuries. A passenger in Landreth's vehicle, suffered "probable -- not apparent" injuries.

Leffler suffered no apparent injuries.
