Roy Walter Moberg, 84, North Little Rock, Ark., formerly of Nevada, died at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock, Friday, Dec.19, 2008. He was born Dec. 31, 1923, in Fort Scott, to Walter Moberg and Lulu Pearl Thomas Moberg. He married Doris Dennison in 1946 and later married Juanita Johnson July 1, 1987, in Fort Scott, and she survives of the home.

Mr. Moberg was born in Fort Scott and reared in Nevada. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1942. He served in the United States Navy as a sonar operator during World War II. He worked for the Missouri-Pacific railroad as a young man for 13 years and later worked for the Colgate Palmolive Company in Kansas City, Mo., for 29 years, retiring in 1983. He was an avid golfer and car enthusiast.

In addition to his wife Juanita, he is survived by two sons, Kenneth Walter Moberg, Lindsborg, Kan., and Randal Lee Moberg, Pleasant Hill, Mo.; one daughter, Casinda Sue Kremeier, Pleasant Hill, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Kathy Glyn Loy, Mabelvale, Ark.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Karl William Moberg, and one grandchild, Bobby Moberg.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Dr. William Cox officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery, Fort Scott.

Friends may call now and until the time of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada and the family will receive friends at the funeral home tomorrow between noon and 1 p.m. prior to the service.

The family suggests that memorials may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
