Council to take another look at budget

The Nevada City Council will hold a special meeting at 7 a.m., Wednesday, to discuss two issues. The first will be the second reading of an ordinance to approve the city's $17.9 million 2009 city budget and the second will be an emergency ordinance to start an eminent domain condemnation action against Wendell Lee to gain the necessary right-of-way to replace part of the city's interceptor line running to the city's sewage treatment plant.

The city's 2009 budget includes $5.2 for personnel, $3.5 for supplies and services, $767,660 for capital outlay, $7.2 million for capital projects and $528,000 for debt service.

The budget includes an increase in the operating budget from $7.8 million in 2008 to $8.7 million for 2009.
