Neal wins district Elks Hoop Shoot contest

Treysen Neal, age 9, a third grader at Truman Elementary in Nevada, won the second round of competition in the Elks Hoop Shoot free throw contest at Clinton High School on Saturday, Jan. 10. Neal was crowned as the district champion after previously winning the local competition in Nevada, and moves on to the State Championship in Imperial, Mo., on Feb. 7, 2009.

Neal advances after sinking 20 out of 25 free throws to take top honors in the 8 to 9-year-old division. He is the son of Lori and Jim Chandler of Nevada.
