An overflowing crowd attended the Northeast Vernon County Homecoming, held at the gymnasium in Walker on Saturday evening.

The fans were disappointed that the basketball teams lost all three of the games, but the bevy of pretty young ladies and their escorts highlighted the evening.

Freshman candidate Abby McCubbin was crowned queen. Her escort was Tanner Stutzman. Stutzman is the son of Diane Stutzman and Jeff Stutzman; McCubbin is the daughter of David McCubbin and Tabitha McCubbin.

Other members of the Homecoming Court were seniors Tiffany Triebel, daughter of Karen Hurt and George Triebel, escort Charlie Stewart, son of Tim Stewart and Cheryl Arnold, and Shannon Gray, daughter of Paula Gray and the late Gene Gray; flower girl Kylie Alexander, daughter of Allison and Bill Alexander; crown bearer Trey Graves, son of Jodi and Andy Graves; sophomores Josh Bachand, son of Darren and Vivian Bachand, and Kelsey Herring, daughter of Rocky and Dink Herring; juniors Isaac Wilkins, son of Kim and Vance Wilkins, and Krystle Vantellman, daughter of Dennis and Kim Vantellman. The ball carriers were Chase Thompson and Sabrina Fox.

The 2009 Homecoming Queen was crowned by Tiffany Bogartus, 2008 Queen, whose escort was Cody Scott.
