Nevada First Baptist Church Kids' KORE wrapped up a successful year with a closing ceremony last Wednesday, April 29, with about 350 in attendance. Kid's KORE is a program for children in preschool thru sixth grade.

At KORE, kids learn about Jesus, how to be more like Him, and how to apply these Bible truths to their own lives. One major element of Kid's KORE is Service.

First Baptist Church Children's Minister Jeanette Hawkins commented that, "The compassion that these children have for others is an inspiration and a quality that Jesus modeled throughout His ministry. Our hard-working team of children's workers should be relieved to see the fruits of their labor."

The children participated in several service projects throughout the year including a clothes drive for a local elementary school's emergency clothes closet, making decorations for the community Thanksgiving Dinner, collecting toys and games for the Children's Center waiting room and making blankets for the Ambulance barn to keep in their vehicles ready to comfort a child being cared for by their medical team.

Pastor Bill Cox commented on the event, "It's not only been good to see the numbers increase, but the emphasis on outreach and missions has increased as well."
