Margaret J. (Eaton) Brown, 88, Savannah, Mo., formerly of Brookfield, Mo., passed from this life on Sunday, June 7, 2009, at LaVerna Village Nursing Home, Savannah. Margaret was born Aug. 8, 1920, in Chanute, Kan., to George and Luella (Palmer) Eaton. Margaret married Wilbur A. "Bill" Brown on Jan. 16, 1943 in St. Louis, Mo. They were married for 66 years. He preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 2009.
Her parents; son, Richard Brown; brother, Harry Eaton; sisters, Virginia Eaton, Elinor Bales and husband, Sanford; and a brother-in-law, Roy Brown also preceded Margaret in death.
She was a claims clerk for Western Insurance Company for several years then became a homemaker. Margaret was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Brookfield, Mo.
Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Kathy Brown, Savannah, Mo.; brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Donna Eaton, Milpitas, California; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Helvie, Wichita, Kansas, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Celebration of Life and Interment: 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, at Savannah Cemetery, Savannah. There is no public visitation scheduled. Memorial donations to Hands of Hope Hospice.
