Police Reports May 23-31

May 23

There was a report of a petty theft from a motor vehicle in the 1200 block of west Wight, made by David Hope, of Nevada. He reported cash and compact discs stolen.

An accident occurred at 5:32 p.m., at Austin and Barrett, involving a car driven by Joseph W. Terry, of El Dorado Springs, and a SUV driven by Robert E. King, of Indepedence. Rhonda R. Brown, a passenger in the King vehicle, was listed with evident but not disabling injuries.

May 24

There was a report of tampering with a motor vehicle in the 600 block of west Hunter, made by Jennifer Corbin, of Nevada. She reported a radio, compact disc holder, and compact discs stolen.

An accident occurred at 2 a.m., in the 71 Motel parking lot, involving a parked car owned by John C. Green, of Nevada, and an unknown vehicle. No injuries were reported.

May 25

There was a report of a petty theft from a motor vehicle in the 1100 block of west Walnut, made by Misti Whaley, of Nevada. She reported cash stolen.

May 26

There was a report of a theft in the 700 block of west Burton, made by Karen Clark, of Nevada. She reported cash, credit cards, a purse, and wallet stolen.

An accident occurred at 6:32 p.m., at Clay and Ewing, involving a SUV driven by Jana R. Ireland, of Nevada, and a parked car owned by Steve Zoglmann, of Nevada. No injuries were reported.

May 27

There was a report of a petty theft from a motor vehicle in the 1000 block of south Ash, made by Jennifer Lightner, of Nevada. She reported a wallet and contents stolen. The wallet and most of the contents were located. At least one item from the wallet is still missing.

An accident occurred at 1:20 a.m., at AmVet's parking lot, involving a van driven by Raymond T. Ferry, of Ulman, Mo., and a vehicle that left the scene. No injuries were reported.

May 28

There was a report of a theft in the 1200 block of south Spring, made by Helen Newton and George Range, of Nevada. They reported rings and medication stolen.

May 29

There was a report of a theft in the 300 block of west Cherry, made by Audra Somers, of Nevada. She reported a purse and contents stolen. The item was located, turned into the police department, and returned to the owner.

There was a report of an animal bite in the 600 block of east Maple, made by Karen Bybee, of Nevada. She reported a 5 year old male was bitten by a dog. The dog is under observation.

May 30

An accident occurred at 2:15 a.m., in Cash 'n' Dash I's parking lot, involving a car that left the scene and a gasoline pump owned by Cash 'n' Dash. No injuries were reported. The case is still under investigation.

An accident occurred at 10:56 a.m., in Austin and Barrett, involving a car driven by Sharon K. Gardner, of Richards, and a SUV driven by Barry M. Witt, of El Dorado Springs. No injuries were reported.

May 31

An accident occurred at 9 p.m., at Main and Maple, involving an eastbound pickup driven by Kenneth E. Walker, of Nevada. The pickup was pulling a trailer that was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound that failed to stop for the accident. No injuries were reported.
