Captain Timothy Bullard, on behalf of Chief Robert Benn, presents Rick Smith with a plaque thanking him for his continued service to the fire department and to the community. Smith is joined by his wife, Coeta.

The Nevada Fire Department recently recognized the past and continued support of Richard Smith of rural Nevada.

Smith owns and operates Southeast Auto and has served as a Vernon County Ambulance District first responder and EMT.

"Rick has been an enthusiastic supporter of Emergency Services in Nevada and Vernon County for many years," said Nevada Fire Chief Robert Benn.

"Additionally, Rick supplies salvage automobiles for our training needs throughout the year, including the two recently used for our Extrication Demonstration on the Square during Bush-whacker Days."

"In my short time as training officer, Rick has been my go-to for providing cars for our needs, stated Capt. Timothy Bullard, "He never lets us down."

To mark this occasion, Nevada Fire Department presented Smith with a plaque as a token of its appreciation.
