Yard of the Week
Friday, July 24, 2009
The Carol and Tony Urner home and surrounding three acres at 16800 S. 1413 Rd., is the Garden Club's final choice for this year's Yard of the Week. Their home, which they built 28 years ago, has several large evergreen shrubs that provide privacy from the busy street in front of their house. A circle drive leads from the street to a neat, well-kept yard, and flower beds filled with sedum and vinca major and vinca minor for a ground cover growing under the abundant day lilies, gayfeather, cone flowers and hydrangea and a butterfly bush. The beds on the north side of the house has flowering chameleon plants and vinca major.
Tony's garden tip is to deadhead and trim every day.
