Griffons to host exhibition game

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

After winning the Greater Ozarks Regional tournament, the Nevada Griffons found themselves with a week-long layoff before the start of the NBC World Series -- or so they thought.

General manager Jeff Post announced Monday that the Griffons will return home before heading to the World Series in Wichita, Kan., Aug. 1. The Neosho Dirtbags will come to Lyons Stadium to face the Griffons for the second time this year in an exhibition game on Thursday, July 30.

That contest is scheduled to start at 7 p.m., and will be the final home action of the year for the Griffons.

"This will give our players a chance to get tuned up for the NBC World Series after having four days off," Post said.
