Edna E. Ellis, 88, Nevada, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, Nevada. She was born Feb. 6, 1921, in Randolph County, Ark., to Charles E. Dismang and Leona Ennis Dismang. She was married Feb. 14, 1991, to Orville Ellis and he survives of the home.

Edna was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nevada, a charter member of the Nevada Country Club, and Soropimists Club for some 25 years. At one time she owned and operated the South Winds Motel and dining room, and Bowman Abstract Company in Nevada.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three stepchildren, Don Davis, St. Petersburg, Fla., Michael Bowman, Richmond, Texas, and Jerry Bowman, Baton Rouge, La.; several grandchildren; one sister, Vona Lea Athy, Pocahontas, Ark.; one brother James D. Dismang, Bonham, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Edgar Dismang, Rex Dismang, and Charles Dismang.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Dr. William Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Deepwood Cemetery, Nevada.
