The Nevada Fire Department and Local 3031 of the International Association of Firefighters joined together to sponsor a week-long wearing of a special uniform, a pink T-shirt to highlight breast cancer awareness week.

"This type of issue affects all of us," Fire Chief Robert Benn said. "We all have wives, daughters and mothers we love. It's not just us showing support either. Fire departments across the nation are looking at doing this."

Kelly Wingert, firefighters local 3031 president, said that the union was looking at the possibility of selling the shirts next year.
