The ordinances under consideration include the approval of the Nevada Police Department joining the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force; an agreement with Vernon County for the billing and collection of property taxes; a contract with Works of Dirt to install fencing and backstops at the Nevada Municipal Sports Complex; a change order to the city's contract with G & G Construction for the construction of the city's new wastewater treatment plant and an amendment to the city's contract with Allgeier Martin and Associates for oversight of the construction of the wastewater plant.
According to City Clerk Julie Lewis the council meeting scheduled for Nov. 3 has been canceled because of the lack of a quorum and has been rescheduled for 7 p.m., Nov. 10, at which time Lewis will swear-in the two new council members at the start of the meeting.
The City Charter requires a minimum of three council members to conduct business, and one of the three remaining council members will be out of town all next week, Lewis said.
