CCPA comedy opens tonight

The Community Council on the Performing Arts will present "The Housekeeper, a comedy by James Prideaux, Nov. 5-8 at the Fox Playhouse, 110 S. Main, with performances at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. with the box office opening one hour prior to each performance.

The two-person comedy stars Mike Seitz as Manley, a self-styled "literary artist" and Erin McCullough, as Annie Dankworth, who is hired as a housekeeper to look after Manley's large Victorian house as well as himself.

Foundering a bit after the death of his aged and domineering mother, Manley is taken aback when Annie first arrives wearing sneakers and carrying her belongings in a grocery cart. She seems so eager to please that Manley decides to try her out in the housekeeper position and thing go downhill in ways that he never imagined.

The play is directed by Linda Davidson and produced by special arrangement with Dramatist Play Service.

Tickets for the performances may be purchased at the door for $6.
