Sheldon man arrested on stalking charge

Friday, November 6, 2009
Kirk Davisson, 49, Sheldon, was arrested Nov. 3 on a charge of aggravated stalking, a Class D felony. Davisson is alleged to have repeatedly followed a 14-year-old girl and driven past her residence.

The probable cause statement by Vernon County Deputy Pat McCarty lists several incidents, some observed by others, where Davisson is said to have slowed down and stared at the victim at a bus stop, several times in one day.

According to the statement the victim identified Davisson in a photo lineup as the driver, always alone, of the van which had a graphic of "The Pool Guy" with two children in innertubes.

The statement said that the victim's father had observed the van drive by the family residence on several occasions in the mornings. The driver of the school bus that the victim rode also observed a similarly described van in the area of the bus stop on repeated mornings in succession.

McCarty ended his statement by stating he felt Davisson was a danger to the victim because he has demonstrated a propensity/preference toward females 14 to 18 years of age and that he was a danger to the community or other people because there was a likelihood that Davisson would move on to other areas where children in the same age group are found should he be thwarted from stalking his current victim.

According to Case.net, a service of the Missouri courts, Davisson pleaded guilty in Feb. 2007 to invasion of privacy of multiple individuals in the second degree, which is a Class D felony and to receiving stolen property, less than $500 value, a Class A misdemeanor. Davisson paid a fine for the misdemeanor and received a suspended imposition of sentence on the felony of four years' incarceration in the Department of Corrections. Davisson is currently on five years of supervised probation, which began Feb. 22, 2007.

We do not properly track the sex offenders we have now...do you know where all of the offenders live in Nevada and the surrounding area???? Do you know where they work??? Do you know if you are their neighbor???

WOW, seems everyone has found this guy guilty already! It does not appear that anyone, including the authorities, or even this newspaper, has actually spoken with him. What if he was just driving to work? The report does not incicate that he stopped, spoke, or otherwise engaged in any questionable behavior whatsoever. He just drove by in a very noticable vehicle and could be perfectly innocent of this charge. Unfortunately he has already been judged publically by this paper in a one-sided fashion, found guilty, and crucified before all in Nevada. Even if he is completely cleared of all charges, he will be forever guilty because of this paper and its presumption of guilt.

This man's service van is clearly marked with his company name. He has service calls and jobs all around Nevada and the surrounding communities. He has every right to drive from job to job. The Nevada Daily Mail and the public have villified this businessman for absolutely no good reason. You might ask yourself if you could be accused of the same thing...driving the same street at the same time. You might want to change that; otherwise, you might be finding yourself on the front page of the paper and facing time.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and looks like a duck, I'd say it was a duck!

why do they delete all of the comments that are true? The article already stated his name. If they are going to delete them they should not let us put them on.

To Voiceofsupport: "The Nevada Daily Mail and the public have villified this businessman for absolutely no good reason." Are you kidding me? This man has displayed a moral turpitude by his past actions and convictions.

I am told we have sex offenders working in the nursing homes, in Nevada. What is up with that?

My fear is this man is building up to something worse. If he drives by the girls house and bus stop several times and on several days in a van that most people know then something is up. It shows he no longer cares who sees him. I fear for the girl. I hope that people are watching out for her. Right now if he is convicted then he goes to jail. He knows this and has nothing to lose. Research has showed that these people never change and never stop until they get what they want. People should be watching this guy 24 7 to make sure he never gets his chance. All that know him are to blame if something happens to this girl now. Just my thoughts. Keep seeking the truth.

Were the other girls attention seekers? Were their parents money-seekers. Did the girl or her parents force the guy to drive by her house and bus stop several times? Come on people! Open your eyes. Put aside how long you have known this man. That is the thing most pedophiles are good at. Meaning they are good at getting people to believe they are harmless. That it is just a misunderstanding. Wake up people before it is to late. Those of you that ignore this man's actions are just as guilty as he is when he does act. Just my thoughts. Keep seeing the truth.
