Erma J. Eador, age 66, of Nevada, died on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. She was born July 15, 1943, in Paris, Texas, to Ralph D. Meacham and Olivia M. Holland Meacham. Erma was married to John Eador on June 1, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, and he survives of the home.
Erma grew up in Paris, Texas, and attended Paris Junior Senior High School. She and John lived in various places until settling in Nevada in 1970.
Erma worked at Nevada City Hospital for many years in housekeeping and also worked as a dental assistant for Drs. Bunton and Peterson.
She was a homemaker and a long time member of the Nevada Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to her husband, Erma is survived by three sons, Kendall Wayne Eador and wife, Kathleen, Nevada, Mo.; Martin Wray Eador and wife, Lisa, Nevada, Mo.; and Paul James Eador and wife, Sherri, Nevada, Mo.; one daughter, Tammy Sue Eador, Nevada, Mo. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Katherine Fay Davis, Gladewater, Texas, and Lena Elenor Morris, Sulphur Springs, Texas; one brother, Dewey Meacham, Texarkana, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ralph Meacham.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at the Church of the Nazarene in Nevada. Friends may call now and until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
Memorials may be given to Children's Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, Mo., or to the American Diabetes Association, in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
