Council to consider accounting contracts

The Nevada City Council will be considering contracts with accounting firms during their regular meeting scheduled for tonight, at 7 o'clock, in the Council Chambers at the Public Safety Building, 120 S. Ash Street.

The Council will be considering the first readings of ordinances to hire DSWA, CPA to conduct the city's 2009 annual audit and to contract with Diehl, Banwart & Bolton, PC as an accounting consultant.

The other new items before the Council is a public hearing and the first reading of an ordinance changing the zoning at 420 W. Cherry from R-3, apartment house district, to C-3 commercial district.

The Council also will be holding the second readings of ordinances to amend the city code to appoint a custodian of records for the police and fire department; approve a one-time salary adjust for city employees; authorize the mayor to apply for a federal matching grant for the city's taxi coupon program and to approve an engineering services contract with Allgeier, Martin & Associates.
