Harold and Marjorie Duerson will be celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary on Jan. 28, 2010.

Harold Duerson, son of the late May and Lynn Duerson, and Marjorie Fisher, daughter of the late Virgil and Grace Fisher, were married on Jan. 28, 1945, in Mound City, Kan. Probate Judge R.L. Cecil officiated.

The couple have three daughters: Carolyn Goree (Robert), Janice Wakefield (Tom), and Ellen Fagen (Arlyn), all of Wichita, Kan. They have five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Harold and Marjorie moved from Fort Scott to Wichita in 1952. Harold retired after 37 years with Derby Refining while Marjorie raised their girls and volunteered with 4-H and Riverview School. After retirement, they have shared many interests including working in their garden and traveling the United States in their motor home, "Molly." They were longtime members of the Wesley United Methodist Church until its closing in 2009.

The family suggests that those who wish may send cards of congratulations to the honorees at 4 Willow Creek Court, Valley Center, KS, 67147.
