Clyde Raymond Guthrie, 68, Nevada, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born July 14, 1941, in Mound City, Mo., to Claude Freeman Guthrie and Lavona Lorene Kyle Guthrie. He was married Sept. 14, 1969, in Webb City, Mo., to Charlena Mae Baines, and she survives of the home.

Mr. Guthrie grew up in Mound City, and graduated from high school there in 1959. He and Charlena came to Nevada, in 1974 and he has lived here since. He was a truck driver his entire working life, retiring in 2006.

In addition to his wife Charlena, survivors include three children, Brett Guthrie and his wife Elana, Parker, Colo., Michelle Guthrie, of the home, and Christy Strauss and her husband Chad, Rogers, Ark.; three grandchildren, Kylie Guthrie, Kaelen Guthrie, and Jacob Strauss; one brother, Fred Guthrie, Independence, Mo.; two sisters, Tina Dunn, Maitland, Mo., and Ida Hornecker, Ft. Morgan, Colo.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Terry Mosher officiating.
