Candidates sought for Silver Haired Legislature

Vernon County residents age 60 and older and willing to serve on the Silver Haired Legislature are urged to file as candidates for a two-year term on the advocacy group, representing Vernon County.

The Silver Haired Legislature is a formally elected group of citizens who promote legislative advocacy for older adults.

Persons wishing to file for office should go to the Vernon County Senior Center, located at Hunter and Main streets, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, and make their intentions known to the director. Candidates must agree in writing to abide by a code of ethics and declaration of candidacy. The declaration must be signed and mailed to Care Connection for Aging Services, PO Box 1078, Warrensburg, MO 64093; and must be postmarked on or before April 1.
