Robert Sandoval, 50, Nevada, passed away at his residence Saturday, March 27, 2010, following a lengthy illness. He was born Nov. 25, 1959, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Alfred Valdez and Carmen Castillo Valdez. He was married Oct. 26, 1984, in Nevada, to Pam Novak and she survives of the home.
Robert was born and reared in California and came to Vernon County in 1982 and spent the remainder of his life here. He made his living in construction, and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Zach Valdez, and Mathew Sandoval, both of Nevada; one daughter, Nicole Sandoval, of Ireland; four grandchildren, Zayne Valdez, and Riddick Shook, both of Nevada, Christy Darby, and Nichlas Darby, both of the state of California; one half brother, Fred Wheeler, the state of Utah.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with pastor Bill Platt officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada.
Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, and the family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening between 6 and 7 p.m.
