VCSWCD hosts annual awards dinner

The Vernon County Soil and Water Conservation District conducted its annual dinner and awards presentation Friday, in the home economics building at the Vernon County fairgrounds.

Attendees were treated to a chicken dinner, catered by Chicken Mary's, Pittsburg. Winners of the annual conservation poster contest were presented awards. All conservation poster entries also were on display around the meeting room.

Another highlight will include the presentation of the Outstanding Conservation Farmer and Outstanding Grassland Farmer for 2009. Arch Forkner was named Outstanding Conservation Farmer and David Diggins was presented with the Grasslands Farmer award.
