Gordon Henry Kranz, 80, Nevada, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., following an illness of several weeks. He was born June 29, 1929, in Holton, Kan., to Henry Ferdinand Kranz and Sarah Roxie Jennings Kranz. He married Lulu Somers on Nov. 22, 1953, in Salina, Kan., and she survives of the home.

Gordon was born and reared in Holton, Kan. He made his living in a variety of pursuits including truck driving, automatic door installation, and motor home repair. He was an avid outdoorsman and handyman. Gordon was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nevada.

Survivors in addition to his wife, include three sons, Gordon Kranz and his wife Robin, Houston, Texas, Jerry Kranz and his wife Rose, Wylie, Texas, and Charlie Kranz, Nevada; two daughters, Pam Gamrod and her husband Robert, McKinney, Texas, and Cherie Kranz, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Kranz, Nemo, Texas, and Leonard Kranz, Circleville, Kan.; and two sisters, Fern Warren, Hood River, Ore., and Loretta Cotter, Louisville, Texas. He was preceded in death by one son, Stanley Wayne; three brothers, Duane, Lloyd, and Vaden, and one sister, Ruby.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, April 23, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church with Dennis Mix and Bert Travis officiating. Interment will follow in Delphos Cemetery, Delphos, Kan. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada, MO 64772. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., on Thursday, at the funeral home.
