Patricia Jeanette Rogers, 86, Humansville, Mo. and Lenexa, Kan., died Friday at her Home at Garden Villas of Lenexa. Patricia was born Feb. 7, 1924 in Nevada, Mo. to James R. and Cora (Nyhart) Journey. She grew up in Nevada and graduated in 1941 from Nevada High School. She married Weldon B. Rogers on Dec. 26, 1942, in Carthage. They lived in Independence until 1976, and for many years Patricia was employed by the FAA in Kansas City. After retirement in 1976, Patricia and Weldon lived in Branson, Cassville, the Sedalia area and Humansville. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, and family gatherings. Patricia was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Bolivar Chapter. Patricia enjoyed flower arranging and won many blue ribbons at Humansville Fall Festival.

Survivors include daughters Cheryl Molinaro, Estero, Fla.; Carolyn Romondo, Olathe, Kan,, and Sandra DePompa, Davie, Fla. Grandchildren include Darcy Romondo Murphy, Melanie Romondo Walker, Kristin Piepmeier, Kerry Piepmeier Phillips, Brad DePompa and Todd DePompa, and her four great-grandchildren. Patricia leaves two surviving brothers, John Journey of Haysville, Kan., and Dean Journey of Wichita, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 6, at the Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Lester Thornton officiating. Interment will follow at Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Visitation will be between 1 and 2 p.m., Thursday, at the Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada, MO 64772.

The family suggests that memorials may be made in Patricia's honor to either the American Diabetes Association or the National Leiomyosarcoma Association in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
