Cloris A. Jackson, a longtime resident of Springfield, Mo., passed away from natural causes on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at 3 a.m., Cloris was born in Balco, Okla., to George Ludwig and Valera Carter Beymer. She married Robert Emmit Jackson in 1938 and to this union two children were born, a daughter, Connie, and a son, Robert.

Cloris worked at McBee Binders for many years retiring at age 76. She attended Glenstone Baptist Church for more than 50 years where she was very active, until she became ill. She enjoyed meeting with her Bible group each week. Her faith was unwavering even at the most difficult time, when life became difficult, she did not complain but met turmoil with an optimistic attitude.

Cloris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert, her son; Robert "Ike" Jackson; a sister Edytha Beymer Winland and brother-in-law, Howard G. Winland; and numerous other family members.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Elizabeth Fletchall and husband, Roy Edwin; five grandchildren, Robert Spencer Jackson, Monica Elizabeth Fletchall, Jennifer Elaine Fletchall Willits and husband, Titus, Nicholas Barrett Jackson and wife, Michelle and Matthew Edwin Fletchall; three great-grandchildren, Hadley Elizabeth Fletchall, Ty Jackson Willits and Paige Elaine Willits; a cousin Cledythe Brandon; and a nephew, Gary Polodna, wife, Dixie and daughter, Lori Haddock.

A graveside service was held Friday, April 30, at 1 p.m., in the National Cemetery in Springfield. Visitation was from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home, Springfield, Mo.

Family have requested memorial donations be made in Cloris's name to the Salvation Army, 1707 W. Chestnut Expressway, Springfield, MO 65802.
