Mad scientist to kick off Summer Reading Program with 'Splashtastic'

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

On June 2, at 1 p.m., in the Vernon County Community Center, Mad Science, a leading science enrichment provider for children, will be the kick off program for the Nevada Public Library Summer Reading Program. Kids can join the Nevada Public Library for a splash-tastic hour of Mad Science! "Find out 'will it float?' as we test the density of different items. Test the effects of an asteroid hitting the surface of the moon! Drop a bowling ball into 'magic mud' and see how big of a mess we don't make. Experience the hit sensation "Dancing Raisins" when we splash them into club soda. Set fire to metal under water," Nevada Public Library Director Susan McBeth said in a press release.
