Bethany wore a white Maggie Sottero chiffon gown with a sweetheart neckline and soft flowing train. She wore the same shoes her grandmother, Velda (Fischer) Jagels, wore on her wedding day June 6, 1948. Amanda Jagels, sister of the bride, served as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were: Suzanne Jagels, sister of the bride; and Rebecca McBroom, friend of the bride. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father and given away by both her parents. Sheldon Thompson, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jeff Barsness and Jason Punkiewicz, both friends of the groom. The flower girl was Payton Shank, cousin of the bride. Haydon Wilson, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer. Julie Wilson, cousin-in-law, served as reader and Rebecca Willbond, groom's sister, served as candle lighter. Guests were ushered by Eric Althaus and Chris Tata, friends of the groom. Grandparents in attendance were, Ruth Campbell, grandmother of the bride; and Bessie Pollard, grandmother of the groom.
Janet Jagels and her daughter, Kylie Jagels, cousins of the bride, provided a light luncheon prior to the ceremony.
The wedding party departed in a limousine for the dinner and dance reception following the ceremony at Figlio Tower on the Country Club Plaza. An elegant three-tiered wedding cake adorned in the bride's chosen colors was provided by Mona McDaniel, along with the groom's cake in the shape of a "brisket" complete with raspberry sauce, in honor of his barbecue team. Good Earth Flowers provided floral arrangements. Video and disc jockey services were by Complete Music, and photos by Bell Photography. The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii, and currently reside in Overland Park, Kan.
