Davis awarded Bronze Star for service in Operation Iraqi Freedom

Staff Sgt. Ed Davis of Columbia, Mo., grandson of Clyde and Margaret Davis, Nevada, Mo., and Tom and Jean Eberhart, Camdenton, and the son of Lynn Davis of Nevada and Dorothy Eberhart of Camdenton, has been awarded the Bronze Star for his "exceptionally meritorious service as platoon sergeant during Operation Iraqi Freedom."

Davis, a member of the United States Army Reserve served with the 955th Engineer Company, Multi National Division-Baghdad, Iraq, from March 30, 2008 to Feb. 12, 2009.

The citation read during the presentation of the medal says, Staff Sgt. Davis'

"actions are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, the 955th Engineer Company, the 46th Engineer Combat Battalion (heavy) the 926th Engineer Brigade, Multi National Division-Baghdad and the United States Army."
