EL DORADO SPRINGS, Mo. -- The AAA Nevada Red Sox traveled to El Dorado Springs Thursday evening and came home with two more wins.

The first game turned into a five-inning affair as the Sox routed the Eagles 14-1. Grant Davis, who went the distance for Nevada on the mound, started things off in the second with a walk and scored when Dusty Schlichting bombed one over the left field wall. Trey Barger popped a single and stole second and Ethan Beisner drew a walk, but both were left standing to end the inning.

Nevada picked up one in the third when Ross Wolfe lined a triple to the right field corner and scored on a sacrifice fly by Trenton Doyle. Nevada's Ron Johnson picked up a single in the frame, but was left standing.

That let Schlichting lead off the fourth, and just to prove it wasn't a fluke, he sent one over the center field fence for a solo shot and the Red Sox never looked back, with the next eight batters all rounding the bases. Barger reached on an error, Ross Means drew a walk, as did Beisner and Isaac Wilkins. Wolfe reached on an error, Doyle lined a single and then it was Taylor Scotten's turn for the long ball. Johnson reached on an error and Davis was hit by a pitch before the inning ended with Nevada on top 12-0.

The Red Sox added two more in the fifth. Beisner drove one to right and Wilkins was hit by a pitch. Both runners advanced on a single by Wolfe and scored on a single by Scotten. El Dorado Springs scored their lone run on a solo shot by the first batter of the home half, but that was all they could muster.

Davis went the five innings for Nevada striking out four, walking two, giving up three hits and hitting one batter.

The second game was a little different story. Wolfe started things off with a walk, but was out on a fielder's choice by Doyle.

Schlichting opened the top of the second, this time bouncing one over the fence in right center for a double. He went to third on a sacrifice bunt by Davis and scored on an error on a bunt by Wilkins, that sent him safely to first. Means picked up a walk, Beisner lined a single and Wolfe was handed a walk, scoring Wilkins and Nevada led 2-0.

El Dorado Springs answered back in the home half, picking up three, and even though the Sox were handed walks in the top of the third, they couldn't capitalize. Means started the fourth with another walk and then it was Barger's turn to send one over the fence, scoring two to put Nevada back on top. The Red Sox loaded the bases with a single by Beisner and walks to Wolfe and Doyle, but a double play ended the inning.

El Dorado Springs picked up two more in the bottom of the fourth to go back up by one, but Nevada chipped away. With one out in the fifth, Davis drove a double to the left field fence followed by a walk by Wilkins. Both runners advanced on a passed ball and scored on a single by Barger before the inning ended, putting the score at 6-5, Nevada.

Neither team plated a run again until the seventh. With one out, Schlichting did it again, this time to right center for his third home run of the night. Davis followed with a walk and Wilkins with a single before Means blooped one between the pitcher and first base.

The first baseman went for the ball with the second baseman covering first and then came the wreck. Means and the second baseman collided as the ball was tossed, allowing both runners to score. Means was left on first to end the inning, but Nevada had built a four-run lead.

El Dorado Springs wasn't done yet, however. A leadoff double and a walk set the table for a three-run home run to bring the Eagles within one, but a ground ball and fly ball later, the Red Sox came away with the 9-8 win.

Barger got the start in game two, going three innings giving up three hits and hitting three batters. Doyle came in for the fourth, walking two and giving up three hits. Means got the fifth, striking out one and walking one and Wolfe finished, going two, walking one and giving up two hits.
