Lois Kathleen "Kay" Hill

Lois Kathleen "Kay" Hill, age 83, resident of Uniontown, Kan., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Mercy Health Center. She was born August 20, 1926, in Kaw City, Okla., the daughter of Mr. Wilson and Maudie Pappan Wilson. She married Dewey Hill Sr. on Dec. 13, 1952, in Douglas, Wyo. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2009. Kay worked most of her life as a waitress. She also loved to cook. She worked as a cook at Union Station for about a year and the Imagination Station daycare in Uniontown for several years. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Uniontown. Kay loved children and especially enjoyed spending time with her own grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Kenneth Brown and wife Janice, Richard Hill and wife Janie, all of Bakersfield, Calif., Dewey Hill Jr. and Charles Hill and wife Cheryl, all of Uniontown, Wilma Graham and husband Larry, Redfield, Kan., Diana Sullivan and husband Alan, Bakersfield, Calif., Shasta Clay, Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., and Brodrick Glessner, of the home. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren ; and three great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Dewey, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence William Brown, who was killed in Okinawa, Japan, during the Korean Conflict, and her parents.

Following cremation, pastor Marty DeWitt will conduct a memorial service at 1 p.m. Monday, July 19, in the First Missionary Baptist Church in Uniontown.
