Elton Eugene Anders

Elton Eugene Anders, 85, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Monday, July 19, 2010 at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada following a lengthy illness. He was bom on July 28, 1924 in Bates County, Mo. to Homer Anders and Gladys Nervina Rhoades Anders. He married Helen Nadine Spencer on Oct. 5, 1945 in Leavenworth, Kan. and she preceded him in death.

Elton was born and raised in Bates County and spent virtually his entire life in this area. He made his living as a farmer and truck driver. Elton was a member of the local Elks and Eagles Lodges.

Survivors include one son, Kenny Anders, Walker, Mo.; two daughters, Carol Prough, Harwood, Mo., and Deena Erb, Spring Hill, Kan.; numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; one sister, Leona Russell, Shawnee, Kan.; and a special friend, Bessie Butterfield, El Dorado Springs, Mo. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Anders; one great-grandson, Cooper Erb; and one brother, Joe Anders.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service.
