BUFFALO, Mo. -- The Nevada Lady Tiger softball team won four games Saturday in the Buffalo Tournament and returned home with the first-place trophy.

Lady Tigers head coach Tammy Holcomb said the day started with a 17-0 win over Buffalo and her squad completed pool play with a 9-0 victory over Waynesville. Bracket play included a 14-0 victory over Osage and a 12-0 win over Logan-Rogersville -- a possible future district opponent in this year's tournament at Bolivar, Mo.

Sophomore right-hander Christian Novak pitched all four games, including a no-hitter against Logan-Rogersville. The Lady Tigers' offense included a grand slam home run by Jessica Neely, two homers off the bat of Tiffani Long and one by Olivia Culbertson. With those wins, the Lady Tigers got the season off to a 6-0 start and Holcomb's squad was set to visit Archie Monday before hosting Seneca at 5 p.m., Tuesday at Bushwhacker Field.
