Tickets on sale now for 'Fall for Her' event, Oct. 16

A special event for women is in the works. The Nevada/Vernon County Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring "Fall for Her," an event for women featuring a fashion show, lunch, health and beauty information and information and shopping opportunities, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 16, at the 3M Clubhouse in Nevada.

"It'll be a fun time, a girl's day out right here in Nevada," said Cat McGrath-Farmer, chamber of commerce director.

A fashion show will give those attending a glimpse of what's in and what's available this fall. Moms, aunts, sisters, grandmothers and even some children will be modeling, and the runway will be at table level. Fashions for both women and children will be on display.

"They will be able to see every piece of jewelry, every accessory, every item of clothing up close and personal," McGrath-Farmer said.

So far, several merchants have signed up, and there's still time for merchants to get in on the opportunity to show off their wares in a unique forum.

"Also, we are finding that a lot of people who are coming in town for the All School Reunion are also attending this, so they'll have a lunch. Lunch will be catered by Count On Us, who always does an magnificent job," McGrath-Farmer said.

Merchants can still sign up for a table to sell or promote their goods or services of interest to women at the event; registration for merchants will be accepted through Oct. 10.

Tickets are on sale now and will be available through Oct. 13. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the chamber offices on the lower level of the Carnegie Building in Nevada, 225 W. Austin, in Nevada.
