The steering committee for the 2010 Nevada High School All-School Reunion is pleased to announce Caduceus -- The Doctors Band will be entertaining on Saturday night of the two-day celebration slated for Oct. 15 and 16. Alumni can dance to this 18-piece orchestra, 8-11:30 p.m., at the Nevada Eagles Lodge.
Celebrating 20 years of performance activities, Caduceus -- The Doctors Band is composed of physicians, dentists, healthcare administrators and attorneys who play music in the Big Band style, and other forms as well. Under the direction of Bill Hartman, this group performs music in its original score. All proceeds from the band's performances are dedicated to nursing and music scholarships.
The live music playing on Friday night will be from the Breakaway Band from Butler, Mo. This four piece group has been playing together for more than 25 years and specializes in classic rock and roll favorites from the '60s, '70s and '80s. They will be performing at the Nevada Eagles Lodge, 8:30-midnight.
On both weekend nights, those who prefer to listen and dance to a DJ, the Nevada Elks will be the perfect location. On Friday, from 8:30 until midnight, NHS alums Debbie and Marlene Scotten with Platinum Entertainment will be providing musical diversion. Music Man David Badgley is scheduled to spin the tunes at the same location at the same times on Saturday. This 1972 Nevada grad will keep the crowd hopping with their favorite requested tunes.
