Damon files for city council seat

Myron Damon, 117 S. Sycamore, filed for the April 5 city council election Thursday afternoon, bringing the number of candidates for the two open seats to three. Sherry Stewart and Brian Leonard filed previously.

If more than four candidates file for the election, a primary will be held Feb. 8, to narrow the field to four.

The filing period for the election continues until 5 p.m., Nov. 23. Anyone wanting more information or to file for the election can contact, Annette Crews, city clerk, 110 S. Ash St., (417) 448-2700.
