Dorothy Carole Warren, 87, Nevada, passed away on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at her home in Nevada following an illness of several weeks. She was born June 8, 1923, in Mammoth Springs, Ark., to Ewing Hogan Kirby and Alice Owens Kirby.
Dorothy was born in Mammoth Springs, Ark., and grew up there and in Nevada. She worked for many years as a nurse's aide at the Nevada State Hospital. She loved to fish and play penny poker. She was very proud of her grandchildren. Dorothy was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include three sons, Jack Farmer, Nevada, Don Simler, Hermitage, Mo., and Robert Warren, Blue Springs, Mo.; two daughters, Shelia Hand, Nevada, and Judy Baker, Oak Grove, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Noel and Larry Farmer, and one daughter, Jeannie Snowden.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 23, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Ray Dean Scism officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada.
Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home and the family receives friends from 7-8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the funeral home.
