Nevada campus Crowder students graduate

Twenty-one students from the Nevada campus of Crowder College graduated on Dec. 18 during commencement exercises on the main campus at Neosho.

Receiving their Associate of Arts degrees were Misty Barrios, Terry L. Begley, Emma Lee Bukowski, Leray LeAnn Caldwell, Nicki Copsey, Matt DeBoutez, Tyler Earnest, Samuel J. Dille, Elena C. Dyas, Megan Foster, Kristina Harris, Joshua Dean Hastings, Ada Marie Kutina, Amber Lewis, Lynna D. Overman, Milded Maryane Morrison, Annette Shadden, Jamie Lynne Sullivan, Zara Tumbleson and Serena Nichole Wagenknecht. Melanie Richardson received her Associate of Arts degree in teacher education. Several of the Nevada campus students were recognized for additional academic honors: Nicki Copsey graduated cum laude for her outstanding academic performance at Crowder College. Samuel Dille received the Outstanding Graduate Award from the Nevada campus.

Members of the Phi Theta Kappa national honor society for two year colleges were also noted during the ceremony. These students from the Nevada campus included Emma Bulowski, Nicki Copsey, Samuel Dille, Elena Dyas, Joshua Hastings, Annette Shadden and Melanie Richardson.

Crowder's Nevada campus has grown significantly since 1995, and now has approximately 450 students enrolled, according to a report in the Nevada Daily Mail on fall 2010 student figures. Programs have expanded along with the student population.
