Jess L. Manley, 47, of Joplin, Mo., passed away at 2:40 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Mo. Jess was born Oct. 16, 1963, in Nevada, and had lived in Joplin since 1983. He was an LPN and involved in pediatric nursing. He previously worked as a brick mason.

Jess married Debbie Wagner on Aug. 18, 1984, in Nevada, and she survives. Additional survivors include two sons, Zach Manley and wife, Brandyn, Joplin, Mo., and Dilan Manley of the home; two daughters, Sara (Miss Sara) and Jessica (Scooter) Manley, both of the home; his parents, William and Sandra Manley, Joplin, Mo.; five brothers, William Manley and wife, Debbie, Joplin, Mo., Richard Manley, Bryan, Texas, Randall Manley and wife, Joyce, Reeds, Mo., and Michael Manley and wife, Janice, and Bruce Manley and wife, Brenda, all of Joplin; and one sister, Cheryl Manley and partner, Lynn Cordova, Springfield, Mo. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Dustin Manley; a niece, Michelle Manley; his paternal grandparents, Jess and Mary Manley; maternal grandparents, Harold and Maureen Troegle; and best friend, Patrick Leer.

A service of remembrance will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, at the First Baptist Church in Diamond, Mo., with visitation to follow.
