Bobbie Lee Tennison, 66, resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at the Mercy Health Center, Fort Scott. He was born Jan. 3, 1945, in Boone County, Ark., the son of Robert Grant Tennison and Stella Mary Slape Tennison. He grew up in Kansas City, Mo. He served in the United States Army, earning three Overseas Bars, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Medical Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, DVR and Mech Badge with Bar, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He later worked for a dry cleaning company. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family talking about old times.

Survivors include three sons, Kevin Lee Tennison, Robert Tennison and Todd Tennison; two daughters, Stella Lavone Tennison and Charlene Tennison; one brother, Lonnie Tennison; one sister, Mary Wallace; and an adopted sister, Myra Jo Linnemann, Okmulgee, Okla. He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Ray Tennison, and his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 24, in the U.S. National Cemetery, Fort Scott. Military honors will be conducted by the Olson Frary Burkhart Post No. 1165 V.F.W.
