Jamie Lee Jones, 25, Oak Harbor, Wash., formerly of Bronaugh, Mo., passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2011, in Oak Harbor, Wash. He was born Dec. 30, 1985, in San Antonio, Texas, to Darrell Glen Jones and Joan Carol Ledwig Jones.

Jamie was born in San Antonio, but grew up in Clinton, Mo. He moved to Bronaugh at age 9 and spent 6 years there. He returned to Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 2004. At age 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves and joined the regular Army at age 18. He was a helicopter door gunner and served in Pakistan and Afghanistan. He was currently a member of the U.S. Navy and worked as an air traffic controller.

Survivors include his parents, Joanie and Gerald Moore, Bronaugh, and Darrell "D.J." Jones, Houston, Texas; his sisters, Martell and Bonnie Moore, Bronaugh, Ashlynn Jones, state of Arizona, and Channing Everitt, Coffeyville, Kan.; and his grandparents, Jerry and Carol Jones, Clinton, Mo., and Mae Lukasilk, San Antonio, Texas.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Justin Avery officiating. Military honors will be performed by the U.S. Navy. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
