Peggy Lavone (Cassatt) Gage-Rose

Peggy L. Rose, 69, Nevada, passed away on Feb. 25, 2011, at Christian Health Care in Nevada. She was born on Sept. 22, 1941, in Barton County, Mo., to William Ray Cassatt and Dorothy I. (Hoagland) Cassatt.

Peggy spent most of her life in the Barton and Vernon county areas, though she did live in Alabama for a short time before starting a family. She was mostly self-employed and a housewife throughout much of her life. At different times in her life, she owned automobile sales and furniture sales businesses. She also sold mobile homes and life insurance.

Peggy liked listening to country music, fishing, playing cards, bowling and flea markets. She also played the guitar and even flew an airplane at one time. Peggy was baptized at Bronaugh Christian Church on March 30, 1983.

Survivors include three sons, Anthony Gage, age 43, Waterloo, Iowa, and his wife, Darcie, Jason Gage, age 42, Salina, Kan., and Dustin Rose, age 39, Springfield, Mo., and his wife Michelle; nine grandchildren, Harrison Gage, Ashley Gage, Trenton Gage, Will Gage, Joshua Gage, Sarah Gage, Michael Gage, David Gage and Samantha Rose; three great-grandchildren, Lexi, Alissa and Haleigh; one sister, Pat Bean; and two nephews, Shaun Bean and Ron Bean. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Cassatt; and one nephew, Joe Bean.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 4, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
