Lewis Joseph Jones, 85, Milo, Mo., passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011, at his home of natural causes. Joe was born on Jan. 17, 1926, in Corder, Mo., to David Lewis Jones and Freida AnnaAnn Cramer Jones. He married Ruth Ann Barker Jones on July 24, 1945, in Fort Scott, Kan., and she preceded him in death March 5, 2011.

Joe attended Corder Lutheran School through 8th grade, until his parents moved to Kansas City and he attended Manuel High School. He worked at feed mills for 35 years. After retiring in 1986, Joe and Ruth moved to Milo, where he enjoyed tormenting his grandchildren and fishing.

Survivors include one daughter, Jo Ann Guzman and her husband, Frank, Milo; grandchildren, David Jones and fiancé, Brandy Redman, Nevada, Davina Gilham and husband, Tim, Trenton, Mo., Kevin Metcalf and wife, Hope, Jasper, Mo., Chad Metcalf and wife, Kari, Jasper, Mo., Jason Metcalf and wife, Laura, Powell, Mo., Giannia Busey and husband, Adam, Nevada, Ryan Jones and wife, Melanie, Liberal, Mo., Chris Jones and Becci, Lamar, Mo., Teresa Jones and husband, Bryan Trussell, Independence, Mo., and Lisa Villarill and husband, Jason, Independence, Mo.; 23 great-grandchildren, Ellis and Emma Gilham, Amanda, Jonathan, Jessie, Andy and Megan Metcalf, Tyson and Desirea Busey, Nathan, Kadi, Wyatt and Sara Jones, Christian and Cheyenne Jones, Kayla, Miah and Xazier Villarill, Seth and Gage Trussell, Rayleine and Abigail Metcalf, and Jared Horton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Jones; children: infant son, David, David Lewis Jones and Danny Lee Jones; and one sister, Dorothy (Jones) Lewis.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, April 6, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Terry Mosher officiating. Interment will follow in Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, at the funeral home.
