Fenske photo exhibit opens

Tuesday, May 17, 2011

Dozens turned out for a reception in honor of a showing of Al Fenske's photography Friday night, at The Art Shop at 104 E. Cherry St, Nevada Above, Fenske and Ladine Casey chat in front of a row of the photos. Most of the photos included in the show are landscapes -- some from U.S. national parks, and others from picturesque locations in Austria and Germany. Visible in the background is a photo of a man calling himself "Son of Black Elk," taken at Mt. Rushmore, S.D., in 1964. Photos are available for purchase, and the exhibit is to be on display through June 10. Members of the Vernon County Arts Council gather on the third Monday of each month at The Art Shop, owned and operated by Andrew McNair, MFA. McNair also teaches drawing and painting and creates portraits in charcoal or graphite, pastel paints or oil paints. For more information, visit www.andrewdmcnair.com.
