Adia Grace Dill, 103, of Fort Scott, Kan., died Wednesday evening, May 18, 2011, at the Medicalodge Nursing Home. She was born April 16, 1908, in Walla Walla, Wash., the daughter of Jesse and Frances Lula Bowen Gardner. She married Neal Lakin on Aug. 4, 1928, in Fort Scott, Kan., and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1977. She married Thea A. "Ted" Dill on April 15, 1978, in Fort Scott, Kan., and he preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 2005.

She graduated from Fort Scott High School and from Mercy School of Nursing. She served as a nurse in the Convent of Mercy for 25 years. She was a faithful member of the First Church of The Nazarene.

She is survived by a son and his wife, Ralph and Joyce Lakin of Port Clinton, Ohio; two granddaughters, Pamela Sue Lakin Kubasek and Jennifer Lynn Lakin Orosz; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Danielle Lakin, and Quinton Orosz all of Ohio; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert (Kaye) Reyolds of Everson, Wash.; nine stepgrandchildren, Teresa Grandchamp, Galen, David and Robert Reynolds, Roxie Brooks, all of Washington, Randy Gates, Donna Smith, Diane Hixon and Deborah Stewart, all of Kansas; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; and six stepgreat-great-grandchildren. In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Joan Lakin; a grandson, Daniel Lakin; six sisters, Delta, Myral, Fern, Nellie, Floy and Cleo; a stepdaughter, Dixie Gates; a stepson-in-law, the Rev. Robert Reynolds; a stepgrandson; and a stepgranddaughter.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, May 23, at the First Church of The Nazarene at Third and Margrave in Fort Scott, with the Rev. Scott Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Marmaton Cemetery under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to either the First Church of The Nazarene or the Fort Scott Christian Heights School, and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall St., P.O.
