U.S. Highway 71 and Route DD interchange work begins

Vernon County -- Kolb Grading closed the crossing and intersection at Highway DD and U.S. Highway 71, between Milo and Sheldon, June 27, to begin construction of the new interchange, bridge and outer road connections. This is part of the work to upgrade U.S. 71 to interstate standards, a press release said.

The detour route is Highway B at Sheldon to Highway A and then to Highway DD.

The work will be complete by Dec. 1 at a cost of $4 million.
