Neoma B. Johnson, 79, of south Kansas City, Mo., passed away Saturday, July 2, after a lengthy illness. She was born June 12, 1932, in Rich Hill, Mo., to Alfred and Hazel Stewart. Neoma was reared in Nevada, Mo., and graduated from Nevada High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to John S. Johnson on Jan. 1, 1953, in Nevada. They moved to the Kansas City area in 1953.

Neoma was a member of Longview Chapel Christian Church, was a longtime member of the Ararat Shrine Needle Guild, and had served as a Cub Scout den mother.

Along with her parents, Neoma was preceded in death by a brother; two sisters; a daughter; and a granddaughter. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, John; son, John E. Johnson (Deanne) of Nevada; daughter, Judy Anders (John) of Kansas City; sister, Linda Holland of Nevada; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m., followed by a service celebrating her life at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, at the Park Lawn Chapel, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, MO 64138. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
