Ima June Frost

Ima June Frost, 76, died on Monday, July 11, 2011, at the home of her granddaughter, Rachel Havu, of Buxton, Maine.

June was born in Deerfield, Mo., on June 12, 1935, the daughter of Alfa Ray and Jennie Marie Trapp-Carpenter. She graduated from high school in Missouri and was a waitress before moving to Maine in 1959.

She was married to Robert A. Frost Jr. in Auburn on Oct. 5, 1963. June and her husband Robert Frost opened the popular, Frosty's Donut Shop in Brunswick in 1965, which they have continued to operate. Robert making the donuts and June welcoming and serving their customers.

June enjoyed ministering by playing the accordion while Bob sang at various churches, nursing homes and an occasional conference. June was a member of the Maine Street Baptist Church. June enjoyed traveling to the Bahamas, Jamaica, Scotland and various cruises. Besides her family June loved her toy poodles.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Frost, of Topsham; two sons, John E. Frost of Brunswick, and Gary L. Frost and his wife, Janice, of Palatka, Fla., and their two children, Christopher Frost and Kyna and Jeremy Micheletti of Green Bay, Wis.; and a daughter, Sondra K. Carrigan and her husband, Charles, of Topsham, their children, Rachel and John Havu of Buxton, Maine, Eric Carrigan of Topsham, Jenny and Zachary Davis of Portland, Stephen Carrigan of Topsham, Aaron Carrigan of Quantico, Va., and Caroline Carrigan of Topsham. Her children are from a previous marriage to Johnny Dulier of Zephyrhills, Fla., who survives. June is also survived by her brother, Jackie and Barbara Carpenter of Blanchard, Idaho; two sisters, Bonnie and Harold Devoe of Mountain Home, Ark., and Delta Barker of Joplin, Mo. June is also delighted with her six great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to visit at the Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick, on Thursday, July 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Brackett Funeral Home on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Rogers Cemetery, Topsham.
