Lawrence and Kay Coiner -- 50 years

Lawrence and Kay (Baynes) Coiner, of Neosho, Mo., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Neosho Church of the Nazarene. They were married Sept. 1, 1961, at the United Methodist Church, Golden City, Mo.

Lawrence retired after 30 years civil service ending his career as shop chief at Ft. Crowder, Mo., and 38 years with the Missouri National Guard. Presently, he is assistant emergency coordinator for ARES in Newton County. Kay retired after teaching 14 years with the Neosho R-5 School District and is a volunteer with the American Red Cross. They enjoy traveling and have participated in several mission trips and are active members of the Neosho Church of the Nazarene.

They have two sons: Brian Coiner, Neosho; and Eric Coiner and wife, Sarah, Olathe, Kan. They also have three grandchildren, Aidan, Liam and Emma Coiner.

Kay is the daughter of, Ruth Baynes, of Nevada, who celebrated her 100th birthday, Sept 2.
